With over 22 years of experience in the hair industry, I can truly say I am still loving every minute of it! At the start of my career, I was fortunate enough to be mentored by Redken educator Jay Roberts. Under his guidance, I had the privilege of working backstage at fashion shows, on WFSB CH3 News, and with reality TV celebrities, including cast members from The Real Housewives of New York City.
My Passion for hair care has only grown over the years, leading me to continually educate myself on the latest hair trends. One of my favorite certifications is the Brazilian Blowout, a service that smooths our even the most unruly hair, leaving it shiny and tamed.
Outside of being the owner of Modern Chic Spa, I am a mom to three amazing boys and a wife to a wonderful, supportive husband. As a family, we love to travel, enjoy great food, and meet wonderful people. I believe that we operate best when we feel our best, so I make time for self-care, embracing the unique offerings of each place that I visit. This dedication to self-care and well-being inspired me to create Modern Chic Spa.
My vision for Modern Chic was to establish a warm and welcoming space where men and women can alleviate the stress of everyday life. I hope you feel just that when you visit Modern Chic Spa!

Hey there, beautiful! My name is Jay, and I'm proud to be CT born & raised. My love for hair started at a very young age when I would go to the salon with my mom. I was always fascinated by how everyone in the chair would light up with joy and confidence. As I grew older, I knew I wanted to make women feel that same way.
I have perfected my craft over the years, specializing in up-to-date, trendy colors, including balayage, dimension, and blonding services. I also offer luxury extensions using tape-ins, beaded wefts, and k-tip methods, all of which I am certified in. Some of my favorite services including long layered cuts and the crowd favorite: my blowouts. All hair type are welcome in my chair.
When I'm not behind the chair , I love to travel and enjoy the finer things in life, especially good food. I'll probably ask you for your favorite restaurant recommendations! My heart is always in my work, and my clients become a part of my family when they sit in my chair.

Shadelin is a talented bridal hair and makeup artist renowned for her expertise with brunettes, low maintenance color, and blow dries. With a keen eye for beauty and passion for making brides look their best on their special day, she has become a sought-after professional in her field . Outside of work, Shadelin enjoys a fulfilling family life with her husband, Peter, and their three children, Sofia, Zoe and Emiliano. In her free time, she loves traveling and soaking up the sun at the beach.

Hi, I'm Laurie DeCiantis MSN, FNP-BC owner and medical director of Modern Glo Medical Aesthetic Skin Studio. With 18 years of experience as a registered nurse and the last four years as an advanced practice registered nurse, I have developed a deep appreciation for natural beauty. My goal is to use medical aesthetics to enhance my patients' existing features, helping them bring out their natural glow.
I was drawn to this field after turning 40, like many others, wanting to focus on aging gracefully. I love consulting with patients to discuss their concerns about aging and skincare maintenance. I customize each treatment plan to focus on individual goals and needs. I would love to sit down with you and explore the best treatments and options to help you achieve your desired results.

Hi, I'm Addy. I'm a 20-year-old student at Cortiva Institute, and I'm thrilled to be joining Modern Chic Spa in August 2024. I've always had a passion for making people feel great about themselves, and what better feeling is there than being comfortable in your own skin? My long-term goal in aesthetics is to open my own acne clinic to help those suffering from various types of acne.
Before attending Cortiva, I was the unofficial makeup artist and aesthetician for my family and friends, finding great joy in helping people feel better about themselves. Having personally experienced severe breakouts after years of clear skin, I understand the impact skin issues have on self-esteem. This personal experience solidified my desire to be in the beauty industry as an aesthetician.
In high school, I always knew I wanted to pursue a career in aesthetics. After a few years in college and searching for the right school, I found my fit at Cortiva Institute. My mission at Modern Chic Spa is to help everyone feel great about their skin. True beauty is more than skin deep, but together, we can work towards achieving your skin goals.
I love that Modern Chic Spa emphasizes relaxation and self-care without any worries.
